From Rejection to Recognition: A Journey of Perseverance, Scholarship, and Creative Growth

After facing four rejections, my perseverance paid off in 2017 when I earned a full scholarship from the U.S. Department of State under the Community College Initiative Program (CCIP). Out of more than 1,000 applicants from India, only 18 were selected, and I was honored to be one of them.

I spent an incredible academic year at the College of DuPage, Illinois, immersing myself in Graphic Design. Beyond refining technical skills, I pushed my creative boundaries, explored new ideas, and grew as a designer, mentor, and lifelong learner. My dedication and hard work earned me a place on the college’s permanent Wall of Fame, reflecting my commitment to growth, innovation, and making a meaningful impact.
