Together for a Hunger-Free Delhi
Supporting Families, Workers, and Street Children with Meals and Essentials During COVID-19
Since April 6, 2020, Manzil Mystics has been dedicated to supporting Delhi’s most vulnerable communities — from daily wage laborers and migrant workers to homeless individuals, senior citizens, differently-abled people, and street children.
Our initiatives include:
- Daily Meals: 35,500 breakfast meals served, featuring Khichdi, Chai with bread, juice, and biscuits.
- Families Supported: 3,119 families reached with nutritious meals and dry ration kits sufficient for 10 days.
- Essential Supplies: Distribution of vegetables, snacks, sanitary pads, and hygiene items to those in need, including 1,800 sanitary pads for 900 families and water and snacks for 1,200 migrant laborers returning home.
- Street Animals: Feeding over 70 street dogs weekly as part of our compassionate outreach.
Through careful planning and collaboration, we package and distribute 350 relief kits weekly, sourcing dry rations from Goonj and ensuring that help reaches those who need it most. This ongoing effort embodies our mission to nurture, support, and uplift communities across Delhi.
Help From Within – A Documentary by Reimar Ott
During the COVID-19 pandemic, German photographer and filmmaker Reimar Ott created the documentary “Help From Within”, featuring our community initiative and nonprofit work. The film beautifully captures our efforts to support people in need during one of the world’s most challenging times — driven by compassion, unity, and hope.
Through Reimar’s lens, this documentary reflects the power of humanity and local action, showing how ordinary individuals came together to make an extraordinary difference.
About the Filmmaker – Reimar Ott | www.reimarott.com
“The camera is a tool to get me out of the house and explore the world. I have the privilege of entering the lives of many different people, who enrich my life and broaden my horizons.” — Reimar Ott
Reimar Ott is a German photographer and filmmaker known for his deep curiosity about people and cultures. He has lived among Indigenous communities such as the First Nations in Canada, the Mapuche in Chile, and the Roma in Hungary, documenting their stories through his authentic and human-centered approach.
For over 15 years, Reimar taught photography at the University of Osnabrück, inspiring students to explore creativity and storytelling through images. Alongside his commercial work, he continues to produce personal projects and films that highlight meaningful human experiences — from aging and resilience to environmental and social issues.
In his own words, “Creating videos like When the Tap Runs Dry gives me the chance to tell stories with moving images and sound.”
When he’s not behind the camera, Reimar volunteers as a miller at a 300-year-old water mill — a reminder of his love for heritage, simplicity, and nature.
